Milan & The Lakes

1st day – Arrival - Milan

Arrival transfer to the hotel. Time to discover the most beautiful and curious corners of one of the trendiest cities in Italy the Duomo, that is one of Milans most important symbols. The most outstanding example of Gothic-Lombard architecture, the Duomo dates back to 1300. The splendid Galleria Viorio Emanuele called the saloo di Milano (The Milan Lounge): If you walk along its cross-shaped arms, topped by the glass and iron structure, you can see old coee-shops, restaurants, boutiques and historical bookshops. Theater La Scala, the temple to the Opera music. This interesting museum houses exhibits of various costumes and theatre sets that are of great historical and artistic value. Some rooms are dedicated to the La Scala Theaters architecture and the life of the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi, while others house ancient musical instruments, curtains and costumes that belonged to famous artists such as Maria Callas and Rudolf Nureyev. From Piazza della Scala, next visit will be to the to the majestic Castello Sforzesco. This huge brick quadrilateral building was the seat of the Sforza, Dukes of Milan. The municipal art collections are now on display in the castle. Dinner at the hotel.

2nd day – Milan

There is a side to Milan that is in continuous evolution, it is the capital of business and progress. Then there is another side that preserves its unchanged traditions. This is the Milan of the historic locales where cuisine has remained the same as it always was, that is characteristic and genuine, and is still oered in places that have remained virtually untouched for centuries. The smells, the tastes, the interior architecture in vaults and red brick, and antique wood furniture take us back to the past full of sublime pleasures, perfected by experience over the centuries. Visit to an ancient cra passed down through the generations that followed to reach us today, famous to have produced one of the most authentic traditional Milanese panetones and today are the custodians of a heritage rich in history and avours. An ancient art being continued today using only the best ingredients. A characteristic and exciting Bar bistrot and restaurant that cannot be overlooked for any ‘neur (wanderer) in Milan. This locale is snuggled into this narrow street that widens up further down where the entrance to the Brera Academy can be found and famous for many artists that frequented it. Some tastings are included during the visit. Overnight at the hotel.

3rd day – Orta’s lake

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Orta, guided visit and then boat to Isola San Giulio. Lunch at a restaurant, local typical dishes served. Aernoon guided visit at the Sacro Monte di Orta and free time. Return to the hotel late aernoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

4th day – Maggiore’s lake and Borromee isles

Breakfast and departure to visit the Borromee isles by boat: the Isola Bella with Borromeo Palace, in Barocco style, sourrounded by a gorgeous Italian garden the Isola Madre, the largest of the isles, stands in the centre ad presents itself with a magnicent renaissance palace surrounded by an incredible garden among the oldest and most important in Italy the Fisherman isle, picturesque shing village with the bell tower that overlooks the red roofs of the houses. Free time for lunch. Return to the hotel late aernoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

5th day – Maggiore’s lake

Breafast at the hotel and transfer to Angera for a guided visit of the Rocca Borromeo. Lunch at a restaurant, local typical dishes served. Aernoon guided visit at the Eremo di Santa Caterina del Sasso in Leggiuno. Transfer to hotel on Lake Como or surrounding area. Dinner and overnight stay.

6th day – Como’s lake

Visit to the main destinations of the lake: Como, the city that gives its name to the lake, with its Voltiano temple and the Duomo Cernobbio with the famous Villa dEste that nowadays is a hotel Tremezzo with Villa Carlo, a private museum surrounded by a marvelous garden Menaggio that extends on a small promontory that shows the lake in all its majesty. Board the boat to reach Bellagio, the pearl of Lake Como, magnicent village with many villas such as Villa Melzi. Lunch in a restaurant and return to Menaggio. Dinner and overnight

7th day – Departure

Transfer from to Milano Malpensa airport and return ight at home
